The department of mechanical engineering has started in the year 1984, it is one of the oldest and biggest departments in the University. The department is committed to the overall development of its students. The department runs one undergraduate program and three postgraduate programs, all the programs are supported with well-developed curriculum and syllabus to meet contemporary industrial needs and equip the students to meet future market demand. The department also runs a Ph.D. program supported by well-equipped research facilities. Keen research interest is currently evinced in areas like IC engine performance and emission control, advanced composite materials, sustainable product development, advanced materials, vehicle dynamics, and energy engineering.
